Weeks 3 and 4 - Moving on

In weeks 3 and 4 I began to work on my photo recreation using my artist mark. Within the time at school I started the outline of the drawing and began to use cross hatching to create some form within the bust and shoulders of my figure. So far I think that this part has been more difficult than the original artist copy, and I am having a little bit of trouble figuring out how to capture the sort-of messy aspect of Michaelangelo's charchol sketches, however I plan to try to use a tortillon to blend out some of the hatching and give my drawing a more messy look. So far I think that my time spent working on this piece has been very very productive and I am liking how the drawing is turning out. I am a little bit conflicted on how to protray the dark background of the refrence photo that I am using, however I think that I will just be shading around the figure to give it a dark perception, however I am curious to see how that will turn out and if it will actually percieve as darkness. Overall I think that I am making good progress with the project and I am very proud of how it is turning out.
