First Steps
This week I worked on prepping the paper and beginning to outline the project. I scaled up the paper and divided it into 16 squares that I used to help guide my outline so it would be more proportionally accurate. Then, using pencil and a light hand I sketched out the drawing which took no more than an hour. This was definitely the easiest part of the project. On day three I tinted the paper using watercolor and set it to dry so that on day four I could begin sketching using the red chalk. The tint worked very well on the paper, however I noticed that it made the paper slightly harder to draw on, especially using pencil. The tint also faded my pencil lines which definitely made it harder to determine correct proportions and line spacing. Overall I would describe this week as successful and I think that I did make good progress.
