Noelani Jones Lecture Reflection

This lecture was the first lunchtime lecture that I have listened to this year and I thought it was interesting because the type of art that Ms. Jones introduced us to a very new, unique concept. I have never truly invested time into reading or learning about weaving, and the idea that she made and dyed it herself was super unique to her process as an artist. I really enjoyed the idea of going above and beyond because you love doing something. The addition of natural elements into her work was also so inspiring because she's willing to invest so much time into something. I would love to channel her passion into my own work and find the thing that I love to do as much as her, and while I maybe don’t share the same passion for nature as her, I think that diving into something that I do have a connection with through art will also help me develop my ideas as well. I think that maybe honing in on my connection with music will allow my art to just flow, much like she allows inspiration to come to her.
