Looking back on the lunchtime lecture featuring Dan Kanach, I had a lot of takeaways however my biggest takeaway from the expirence was how Mr. Kanach talked about how to acutally make money as an artist. I wrote that it takes a good deal of planning, however I also learned that it is EXTREAMLY costly. He said "How long would it take you to make a logo, a poster, a website? It takes however much money it's worth" which I thought was very interesting because he is someone with real expirence from making money in the art world. In all honesty, the idea that it takes a lot of money to promote art scares me, because I feel like I would be scared that I wouldn't get my investment back. Overall, I learned that making money requires a lot of patience, planning, and investmet, and I am greatful for the opportunity to hear Mr. Kanach's outlook on the competitive art community.
